Philo Ridge Farm has hired Christine Oppenheim as its new Front of House Manager after an extensive search led by KK&P’s Good People division. Oppenheim brings nearly 15 years of experience in the food and beverage industry and a refreshing culinary outlook to the historic fifth-generation dairy farm in Charlotte, Vermont.

In this role, Oppenheim will be tasked with overseeing the day-to-day front-of-house operations and managing a team to consistently deliver a top-notch experience to guests. She will also partner with the Culinary Director and Chef to nurture a team culture that supports and empowers staff, champions consistent and growth-oriented feedback, and results in a team that is happy and has meaningful engagement with day-to-day work.

The KK&P recruiting approach centers on the careful development of a comprehensive and nuanced job posting as well as a deliberate strategy for spreading awareness of the opportunity, including general and niche job websites and outreach to our extensive sector networks. Throughout the recruiting process, the KK&P team focuses on due diligence, from multi-staged interviews (telephone and in-person), reference and background checks, close collaboration with the hiring team, and careful cultivation of the strongest candidates. Our process doesn’t end with the hire: our team provides regular coaching sessions with successful candidates during the first three months of employment to ensure their success.

Oppenheim comes to Philo Ridge from The Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid, NY, where she managed a team of 30 front-of-house staffers and directed the food and beverage department to meet the daily needs of the venue’s operations. She was in charge of overseeing the consistent presentation of foods and beverages and ensuring that The Whiteface Lodge complied with all brand and government entity policies and procedures. Previously, Oppenheim was a server and maître d’ at Mirror Lake Inn/The View, which is also in Lake Placid. There, she took pride in customer service, active listening, and ensuring a first-class guest experience.

Oppenheim also brings marketing and sales experience to the team, having served as a marketing associate for Sysco Cincinnati, where she grew sales by nearly 30 percent by successfully bringing value to customers. In her role as a fine wine consultant and sales representative for Tramonte & Sons, she showcased and refined her ability to sell story-driven, boutique wines and nearly tripled her account list. She also served as a manager at WG Kitchen and Bar and inventory assistant at DEP’s Fine Wine and Spirits.
