Dick Batten

Dick Batten, PhD, is a senior human resources executive who started his career as manager and CFO of a group of restaurants and bars in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. At Karen Karp & Partners, he leads the Good People division, helping clients such as City Harvest and Open Door Family Medical Centers realize their goals. Dick focuses on leadership and team effectiveness, recruiting, organization assessment, performance management, and executive coaching to increase business and organizational success.
During a 20-year career at Polaroid Corporation, as vice president of human resources, he spearheaded global initiatives to align diverse people, functions and regions with changing business circumstances.
Dick is an experienced speaker, designing and facilitating workshops, seminars, and leadership events.
He is a Fulbright Scholar, and holds a PhD in sociology from Boston College and a master’s degree from the University of Amsterdam.
An avid cyclist, Dick has cycled several times from Boston to New York City, around the Finger Lakes, N.Y., and once from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City.
