Latoya Ellis has been hired as Human Resources Director at City Harvest after a search by Karen Karp and Partners. A dynamic leader and pragmatic problem solver, Latoya brings a focus on employee development and appreciation to the role.

Latoya joins a team at City Harvest that is committed to helping to feed the 1.2 million New Yorkers struggling to put food on their tables. It is the state’s largest food rescue organization.

As City Harvest’s Human Resources Director, Latoya will be responsible for recruiting, retention, performance management, supervisory capacity building, standardized compensation and employee communication and engagement and will be located in City Harvest’s Food Rescue Facility.

Latoya spent nine years at Services for the Underserved (SUS), steadily moving up from her entry-level Human Resource Associate position in 2009 to Director of Human Resources & Lead HR Business Partner from 2015-2018. At SUS, Latoya helped to create a performance-based culture through training and employee advancement. She also led successful labor-relations partnerships with SEIU 1199 & the United Service Workers’ union.
