Karen Karp & Partners is now accepting proposals for food service operators for Bonnet Springs Park, a new public park under development in the city of Lakeland, Florida

Bonnet Springs Park, slated to open to the public in early 2021, will center on Lake Bonnet and will involve the restoration of a 180-acre area that was once a major rail hub for the East Coast. The park will consist of a welcome center, an event center, a children’s museum, and a nature center adjacent to the lake.

It will be an urban oasis where art, recreation, fun, and tranquility intersect by design. This blended urban and natural park will provide spaces for people to escape, engage, and explore nature while experiencing and learning about the extraordinary history of Central Florida.

KK&P was retained in 2018 by the global design firm Sasaki to develop a food service vision and operating model for the park.

This month, KK&P released a Request for Proposals for operators of the food venues that the project team has been developing with Bonnet Springs. These venues include a destination restaurant, a casual cafe, and a beautiful banquet hall.

The RFP for food service operators may be downloaded here. The deadline for all proposals is now extended to December 15, 2019. Please feel free to forward this opportunity to others who you think may be interested.

Questions and proposals should be directed to Christophe Hille, Senior Consultant at KK&P: christophe@kkandp.com.
